FROM BAMBILI TO PARIS is a documentary that explores the intertwined narratives of personal identity and global power dynamics. Inspired by the filmmaker’s mother’s journey from Congo to Paris, the film unravels the mother’s separation from her homeland against the backdrop of Congo’s struggle for independence and its subsequent entanglement in geopolitical webs.

Through a mix of archival footage, expert analysis, and intimate interviews, the documentary uncovers the hidden forces shaping Congo’s destiny. Through a personal narrative, the documentary illuminates the complexities of identity and belonging for the Congolese diaspora. It confronts the realities of data colonialism and its impact on individual lives.

FROM BAMBILI TO PARIS is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity, and a call to action for a more just and equitable world.
