Once You Are There You Don’t Want to Leave Again

Eeva Juuti (Fine Arts)

The work consists of two parallel rotating wheels of light, pink and green. Pink or magenta has been called an artificial colour since it is not in the visible colour spectrum nor does it exist as a single wave of light. Opposite to magenta is green, magenta and green are complementary colours. Colours are light. Red has the longest and violet the shortest wavelengths. Magenta is a mix of red and violet, it combines the two ends of the spectrum together and forms a wheel. Magenta can be considered as an absence of green. By blending magenta and green together as coloured light, you get white light.
