To be at home. Is it a place? Is it our house? Is it someone? A feeling? Is it comfort? Do we have agency in calling a place, a people, or an accumulation of these ‘home’? Would we feel ‘at home’ in the house of the person we are comfortable with?
In Shoes to Wear, Clothes to Carry, Antonia Valentina and Jordi de Vetten exchanged houses for a week so that each could experience the home of the other. They documented their time searching for common ground in the differences that brought them to where they are and their idea of home.
