FUTURE LOVES YOU BUT IT DOESN'T NEED YOU is a work in which distorted faces are assembled with the elements of a highly recognisable emoji keyboard. It aims to challenge the oversimplified labelling of emotions that is ubiquitous in digital communications. The work seeks to resist what the omnipresence of technology does to our experience of the world: it reduces the ungraspable complexity of reality and the self to an oversimplified interactive semiotics. I am interested in how our sense of self is distorted as humans and technology merge into a glitched hybrid being.
