Naked explores the complexities of intimacy, how emotional vulnerability and the tension between control and surrender shape our intimate relationships with ourselves and others. It explores the influence of gender dynamics on access to both emotional and physical closeness, and how inherited emotional landscapes and structural inequalities affect intimate connections. The intergenerational sacrifices tied to migration directly shape how we experience intimacy and sex, and influence the emotional and physical dynamics within intimate relationships. The ways in which we connect, desire, and navigate intimacy are shaped not only by our own experiences and what we’ve been taught, but also by the bodies we inherit, which carry the histories of those who came before us. These frequently unspoken legacies shape the way we love, surrender and trust. Naked takes the form of a research-based, interactive video work about the accessibility of intimacy and sex.
