IN PLACES WHERE MY BODY IS UAULLY LOCATED
Installation
I bump into my surroundings. We bump into each other. I move, not just to position myself next to you, but to fracture my body, to create distance. I’m in need of your otherness to remind me that I do exist in the real world, that I’m part of all the sounds. In my search for a place to stay, I find a grip on the emptiness between you and me.
In places where my body is usually located is the sixth episode of an ongoing performance series. This episode deals with the desire for connection and its contradictory need to be undetectable. Self-constructed sonic body extensions serve as instruments to locate and track a body in space. These tools add an artificial surface to the body and relate it to analogue radio signals present in the space around us.
