Spill describes the relational experiences that have followed three generations of women in my family, passed down from one to the other. My grandmother grew up during World War II and fled her home at six years old. Today she lives in Ukraine and must relive the painful struggles of uncertainty and fear. To stay or leave. Her life has required internal adaptations to survive, a hardening that grew into emotional dysregulation. The residue of that state overflows into family life, pouring into the following generations.
